BIOMA currently has 296 staff members, including 115 permanent employees, 34 recruited postdoctoral researchers, 29 employees from service dispatching companies and 118 graduate students.

Among the permanent employees, 86 hold postgraduate academic qualifications, 22 are professors and 43 are associate professors.

BIOMA has one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, one recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, two experts enjoying Special Government Allowances from the State Council, one National Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions, one high-level talent of the National Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand Talent Plan, two recipients of the Shennong Talent Program, one National Outstanding Talent in Agricultural Scientific Research, two Position Scientists of the Modern Agricultural Product Technology System, 11 talent under various categories of the Agricultural Science Talent Program, and two winners of the CAAS-DBN Talent Award.

It also has one Sichuan Provincial Expert with Outstanding Contributions, four Sichuan Provincial Academic and Technical Leaders, three Reserve Candidates for Sichuan Provincial Academic and Technical Leaders, two Innovative Leading Talent under the Sichuan Qingcheng Program, four Tianfu Science and Technology Elites, three talent under the Tianfu Emei Program, four Distinguished Tianfu Experts, one Pioneer Leading Talent under the Rongpiao Entrepreneurship Program, one Chengdu Top-tier Talent, one Reserve Talent for Chengdu Top-tier Talent, and two talent under the Rongpiao Program.
