To further advance the study and implementation of the correct outlook on political achievements, promote the sharing of resources and complementary advantages, and build a collaborative and mutually empowering Party-building community, the Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (BIOMA) and the Remote Sensing Institute of Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences jointly organized Party members and officials to visit Tianfu Modern Seed Industry Park in Qionglai on May 12, where they carried out a joint Party branch activity themed “Strengthening Synergy through Party Building and Promoting Development through Paired Cooperation”. The activity was led by Meng Haibo, Director General of BIOMA, and Huang Ping, Party Secretary of the Remote Sensing Institute.

As the first national-level seed industry park in Southwest China, Tianfu Modern Seed Industry Park offered participants an immersive experience of both the scenic rice fields and the cutting-edge achievements in modern agriculture. During the visit, participants toured the germplasm resource bank and closely observed germplasm specimens of rice, maize and other crops. Through digital exhibition systems, they learned about frontier agricultural technologies such as gene editing and space breeding, and gained a deeper understanding of the key links across the entire seed industry chain, including research and development, production, promotion and service. The visit also enabled participants to fully appreciate the strategic significance of “holding Chinese seeds firmly in our own hands and ensuring the Chinese people’s food security.”

This joint Party branch activity provided participants with firsthand insight into the transformative role of the seed industry in agricultural development and a deeper understanding of the contemporary value of germplasm resource utilization and science-technology-enabled agricultural innovation. Participants expressed that, as Party members and officials, they will continue to take the lead by example, give full play to the respective strengths of both sides in agricultural science and technology innovation, deepen paired Party branch cooperation, strengthen resource integration and complementary advantages, and work together to advance seed industry innovation and safeguard food security. Guided by Party building, they will contribute wisdom and strength to the revitalization of the modern seed industry in Sichuan, high-quality agricultural development, and all-round rural revitalization.
