Chengdu, September 14 — The “2026 Training on Yak Breeding Technology and Processing for Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County,” hosted by the Agricultural Genomics Institute at Shenzhen (CAAS), the Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CAAS), the People’s Government of Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County, and the National Innovation Alliance for Yak Industry Enhancement, and organized by the Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (BIOMA), successfully opened today in Chengdu. A total of 43 participants attended the training, including representatives from the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau and Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County, Xinjiang, township people’s governments, animal husbandry and veterinary stations, village party branch secretaries, village committee directors, major livestock breeders, and heads of cooperatives.

This training marks a continuous deepening and extension of BIOMA’s scientific and technological aid to Xinjiang. It aims to further enhance the management abilities and breeding, processing, and operational skills of yak industry personnel in Taxkorgan. By learning from Sichuan’s experience in developing the entire yak industry chain, the initiative provides talent support to improve quality, boost efficiency, and drive rural revitalization for Taxkorgan’s yak industry.
