Training Course for Developing Countries held at BIOMA
On June 21, the “Training Course on Biogas Technology in the Treatment and Utilization of Agricultural Waste for Developing Countries in 2016”opened in Chengdu at Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture (BIOMA). The course is sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM) and organized by BIOMA. Senior officials from the Special Commissioner’s Office of MOFCOM of China in Chengdu, Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and BIOMA were present at the opening ceremony.
Mr. TIAN Shuguang, Director at the Special Commissioner’s Office of MOFCOM in Chengdu said in his speech that China was ready to share with other countries biogas technology and managerial experience and he believed that participants from this course would get the high-quality training as the participants from previous courses did.
Division director Mr. Lu Ping of Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce (DOC) extended congratulations to the opening of the course and said that the Sichuan DOCwould provide its due service to this course. He also hoped that participants could help to promote the economic and trade cooperation between Sichuan province and their home countries.
Mr. Deng Yu, Deputy Director General of BIOMA expressed in his speech the wish that percipients could conduct extensive and in-depth exchanges with BIOMA professors and scientists and become friendship ambassadors between China and their home countries.
Participant representative Mr. Glenroy LORD from Grenadaexpressed gratitude to MOFCOM of China for sponsoring such a wonderful program and to BIOMA for organizing it. He believed that biogas technology could help to treat agricultural waste, reduce landfill and generate the renewable energy of biogas so as to provide a cleaner environment to people in the world.
This course is the 66th training session held by BIOMA since its establishment. It lasts for 42 days from June 21 to August 1, and has 28 participants from 11 developing countries. The contents of this training includeapplication and development of biogas technology for the treatment of waste in China, biogas development in China and the fermentation process of biogas plants. And the participants will have the hands-on practice of building rural household biogas digesters.During the course, participants will also visit some pilot biogas plants and companies around Chengdu.
