BIOMA Holds Closing Ceremony of Training Course on Biogas Technology in the Treatment and Utilization of Agricultural Waste

 

On August 1, the closing ceremony of the “Training Course on Biogas Technology in the Treatment and Utilization of Agricultural Waste for Developing Countries in 2016”was held in Chengdu at Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture (BIOMA). The course is sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by BIOMA. Senior officials from the Special Commissioner’s Office of MOFCOM of China in Chengdu, Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and BIOMA were present at the opening ceremony.

Mr. TIAN Shuguang, Director at the Special Commissioner’s Office of MOFCOM of China in Chengdu extended congratulations to the successful completion of the training course and expressed the hope that participants would not only take back to their home countries biogas technology, but also become envoys of friendship between China and other developing countries.

Division director Mr. Lu Ping of Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce (DOC) hopedthat participants could come back to China in the future for more economic and social cooperation.

BIOMA’s Deputy Director General Mr. HU Guoquan highly praised the hard efforts made by participants during the course and expressed the hope that they could practice the biogas knowledge when they return home so as to make their own contributions to the treatment of rural waste and utilization of rural energies in their home countries. He also hoped that participants could stay in touch with BIOMA professors and experts and work together to make contributions to protect world environment.

Participant representative Benjamin from Ghanaexpressed gratitude to MOFCOM and BIOMA for inviting participants to China to learn biogas. He said that the participants not only felt the hospitality of BIOMA staff, but also learnt useful knowledge and they would take back such knowledge home to promote the development of their home countries and ensure energy security, develop agriculture and protect the environment.

This course is the 66th training session held by BIOMA since its establishment. It lasted for 42 days from June 21 to August 1, and has 28 participants from 11 developing countries.
