BIOMA Holds Closing Ceremony of Biogas Training Course

 

On June 14, the closing ceremony of the “Training Course on Biogas Technology, Rural Energy and Environmental Protection for Developing Countries in 2016”was held in Chengdu at Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture (BIOMA). The course is sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by BIOMA. Senior officials from the Special Commissioner’s Office of MOFCOM of China in Chengdu, Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and BIOMA were present at the opening ceremony.

Mr. TIAN Shuguang, Director at the Special Commissioner’s Office of MOFCOM of China in Chengdu said in his speech that he believed that all participants had harvested a lot from this program, not only the biogas technology itself, but also a better understanding of China and a deeper friendship with the Chinese people.

Division director Mr. Lu Ping of Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce (DOC) hopedthat participants could make contributions to the economic cooperation between their countries and China, particularly Sichuan province after theywent back to their home countries.

BIOMA’s Deputy Director General Mr. HU Guoquansaid in his speech that this training had established a good platform for exchanges and communication and hoped this platform would continue to function and we could stay in touch to make more exchanges on the problems we might face and ideas we might have on the biogas development fronts.

Participant representative Mr. Derje from Ethiopia said that the training and management were really well programmed and convincing and participants had learned useful knowledge for developing biogas in their own countries when they went back.

This course is the 65th training session held by BIOMA since its establishment. It lasts for 42 days from May 5 to June 15, and has 28 participants from 11 developing countries.
