"Seminar on Biogas Promotion and Management for Developing Countries" Opens in Chengdu

On April 9, the opening ceremony of the "Seminar on Biogas Promotion and Management for Developing Countries" sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and hosted by the Biogas Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was held in Chengdu. Twenty-five government officials and technicians from six developing countries, including Serbia, Vietnam, Laos, the Philippines, Jordan and Uzbekistan, who are engaged in research, production, extension and management in the fields of energy, environment and agriculture, participated in the 14-day seminar. Deng Dexiong, Deputy Commissioner of the Special Commissioner Office of the Ministry of Commerce in Chengdu, Hu Guoquan, Deputy Director General of BIOMA, Xiong Miao, Deputy Director of Chengdu Center for Opening Up and Cooperation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

This Seminar is the first foreign aid traininf organized by BIOMA this year. It will discuss biogas technology, rural energy, environmental protection and other related topics with the participants through classroom lectures, professional practice, visits, cultural experience and other forms. The participants will visit Kunming, Yunnan Province to investigate large and medium-size biogas plants.
