BIOMA Holds Biogas Technology Training Course for developing Countries

 

On July 14, the “Training Course on Biogas Technology for Developing Countries in 2015”opened in Chengdu at Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture (BIOMA). The course is sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by BIOMA. Senior officials from the Special Commissioner’s Office of MOC of China in Chengdu, Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and BIOMA were present at the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, participant representative Mr. Edwin from Costa Ricasaid that the main feature of biogas is that it can be produced by farmers themselves and expressed hopes that it will replace oil as the energy source for Costa Rica. Deputy DirectorGeneral of BIOMA Mr. Hu Guoquan extended warm welcome to the participants and expressed thanks to the Special Commissioner’s Office of MOC of China in Chengdu, and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce for their long time guidance and support to the international training work of BIOMA. He hoped that the course participants and the BIOMA staff can become a big family and enjoy a pleasant stay in Chengdu.

This course is the 62nd training session held by BIOMA since its establishment. It lasts for 45 days from July 14 to August 27, and has 27 participants from 11developing countries. The contents of this training includes introduction to biogas development in China, design and construction of rural household biogas digesters, fermentation process of biogas plants, biogas microbiology, etc. During the course, participants will also visit some pilot biogas plants and companies.
