2016 BIOMA Holds Closing Ceremony of Biogas Training Course

On August 28, the closing ceremony of the “Seminar on Biogas Industry Promotion and Management for Developing Countries in 2016” was held in Beijing at Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). The course is sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by BIOMA. Senior officials from the Academy for International Business Officials of MOFCOM, Department of International Cooperation of CAAS and BIOMA were present at the closing ceremony.

Mr. XU Kai, Director at the Academy for International Business Officials of MOFCOM said in his speech that he congratulates all participants on their successful completion of this seminar, and hope that they can bring back home all good memories and Chinese people’s friendship and intention for stronger cooperation so as to promote sustainable social and economic development in developing countries.

Mr. LIU Meng, director of department of international cooperation of CAAS, extended congratulations to all participants and underlined that CAAS will continue to support this seminar and look forward to conducting more cooperation with all participants and participant countries.

Ms. CAI Ping, CPC Party Secretary and Deputy Director General of BIOMA, said in her speech that, in the new stage of conversion to large and super-large biogas projects, BIOMA is willing to share with other developing countries experience on biogas development so as to contribute to renewable energy development and environmental protection worldwide.

Participant representative Mr. Banda from Zambia expressed his gratitude to MOFCOM’s sponsorship and BIOMA staff’s hard work. Mr. Banda emphasized that this seminar will mark the beginning of a life-long effort to promote biogas industry in African countries, and a stronger bilateral relationship between China and participant countries is of the essence.

This seminar is the 67th training session held by BIOMA since its establishment. It lasts for 21 days from August 9 to August 29, and has 37 participants from 13 countries, including South Africa, Ghana, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vanuatu, etc.
