“2023 Training Course on Biogas Technology, Rural Energy and Environmental Protection for Developing Countries” Opens in Chengdu

On April 6, the opening ceremony of the “2023 Training Course on Biogas Technology, Rural Energy and Environmental Protection for Developing Countries” was held in Chengdu. This training is sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) and organized by Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (BIOMA). Twenty-six government officials and technicians from six developing countries, namely Zambia, Uganda, Nepal, Nigeria, Jordan and Ghana, participated in the 21-day training. Participants are engaged in research, production, extension and management in the fields of energy, environment and agriculture. Mr. DENG Dexiong, Vice Special Commissioner, Special Commissioner’s Office of MOFCOM in Chengdu, Mr. WANG Ren, Senior Advisor on International Cooperation,Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences(CAAS), Mr. Chen Tianjin, Director, Department of International Cooperation, CAAS, and Mr. WANG Dengshan, Director-General, BIOMA attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

This training course is the first face-to-face foreign aid training course held by BIOMA since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak three years ago. Through classroom lectures, professional practice, field visits and cultural experience, participants will discuss biogas technology, rural energy, environmental protection and other related topics.
